This tent is going back to the shop today due to it being the most appalling tent I have ever owned!

The mice ate my last tent and so I looked for one close in shape and size as my previous tent. I am 5' and a single parent to a 3 year old so need to be able to put a tent up on my own.

I have been camping for over 25 years and so decided not to put this tent up in the garden to check it before going to a festival this weekend.Hmmmm big mistake!

First problem I couldn't actually put the poles into the pins and I tried for about 45 mins until having to ask some men as my friends had not arrived. Even with 3 men and myself it was a huge effort.

Next the rigid poles that hold up the middle section just kept falling out the bendy poles that went across the roof which made it very difficult to raise. 2 hours later and I still could not lift this tent off the ground. It was raining hard and I had a very bored toddler. Bearing in mind I could get my previous tent up and pegged down in about 30-45 mins by myself I was extremely cheesed off. My friends turned up and we eventually got it up after much effort due the rigid poles kept bending at to right angles as the metal was so weak and they split a bit, very concerning when stuck in a field at a festival. This meant that the roof sagged which was not ideal in the pouring rain.

The zips in this tent were awful they did not work and kept parting (not sure of the proper technical term) and I had to keep undoing and doing them back up to try and get the zip to stay together. The zips on the left hand sleeping compartment would not do up at all as the tension was all wrong which meant that it was quite drafty at night.

The divider in between the compartments did not zip all the way round and yet again that zip did not work along with the zip on door between the porch and the living area. This meant that extra blankets we were using kept sliding through to the other compartment.

Lastly the rigid tent poles would not stay up and kept falling off the bendy poles which meant the roof sagged even more.

Basically this tent is utter rubbish and I would not recommend it. I have had 2 Kampa tents before this one and had to return the first one as the stitching split and the second one had a leaking spot I put both of these down to just being unfortunate but after having all the problems with this tent on it's first use I will never buy Kampa again.

Have just got back from our first use of the Woolacombe 4 only 2 nights and what a tent. We followed the instructions but with the footprint this can be fiddly but only in positioning on the footprint. Pulling up all four poles into anything more than a breeze seemed hard work though there was only two of us putting up the tent.Once in position guying out was simple though well thought out and very effective as some heavy squalls encountered .Once set up inside we were very satisfied with the overall performance and plenty of room though only the two of us ,but comfortable for four. The option of the porch groundsheet is a good idea but can be fiddly to fit, door openings good and easy to use but had to get used to it after the role up of the last tent, very light and airy especially with all blinds open which roll down and tuck into neat pockets. Overall a fab tent good value for money.
